An Overview

 

How do you develop a new brand identity for
Scotland’s first ‘tequila’ (when you can’t say ‘tequila’)? 

 

Tequila has protected status. It’s only ‘tequila’ if made with 100% Blue Weber Agave in certain states in Mexico. But this new spirit is tequila in all but name. So we looked for a shared space between Mexico and the night skies around Dark Art Distillery.  

 

Our design centres around the connection Blue Weber Agave spirits have with the lore of Mexico – the birthplace of founder, Andrew Clark Hutchison. Véspero (Spanish for ‘evening star’) tracks Andrew’s journey to Scotland – and the orbit of Venus – mapped by starlight on our cosmic bottle design.
